Play-Based and Nature-Based Education
PCCP is focused on learning through play and exploration. Students learn math as they figure out how many students are present during circle time and how many places to set at the table for snack. Each morning, students have the option to make mail for their friends, which is delivered later in the day. It is fantastic to watch them learn to write  as the year progresses. Daily sledding in the winter teaches the students to observe and understand the weather, put on their winter clothing independently, and work as a team to carry sleds back up the hill. The moments of learning and growing are infinite as preschoolers build towers, play dress up, share in outdoor discovery and even tidy up the toys together.

PCCP believes that children should experience the natural environment. Developing an understanding and appreciation of the natural world is a daily focus. We are transitioning our playground to a natural playscape (rocks, boulders, sand, and logs) to encourage creative play and exploration. Natural playscapes have been shown to foster child development in many areas, including literacy, early science learning, and environmental awareness.
When and Where
Our classes are mixed-age. Our three-year olds meet twice a week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Our four-year-olds also attend class on Friday where they concentrate on pre-kindergarten skills, Spanish, and special projects. Parents wanting additional days are welcome to enroll their children for both the M/W and T/TH program or share a spot to add one additional day, as space permits.

Classes are capped at 16 children, ideally with 8 in the three-year-old program and 8 in the four-year-old program.

Preschool hours are 9:00am to 12:45pm.

Our school is located in the Park City Library. We have a playground on-site and take advantage of the Library Field for sledding, running, and playing.

Children must be fully potty trained and be three years old by November 1st in order to enter the program. If your child misses the November 1st deadline and you are interested in attending, please contact us to discuss your child’s situation.
